Leon McDaniel Death, Obituary – An inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the death of a man whose body was found inside a barn that was on fire early on Sunday morning near Travelers Rest prompted the authorities to launch the probe into the event. On December 18, around 7:07 in the morning, the North Greenville Fire Department reported that they were called to an incident on Locust Hill Road.
The fire was said to have been reported by the North Greenville Fire Department. Officials claimed that the fire had been put out by 8:05 in the morning; nevertheless, the barn was still burning, and fire fighters were struggling to cope with the falling metal roof at the time. Once the smoke had been cleared away, the firefighters were able to pinpoint the location of the deceased man.
The Greenville County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Leon McDaniel, who was 76 years old at the time of his death. McDaniel’s age at the time of his death was 76. They also said that an autopsy had revealed that smoke inhalation and heat burns were the primary contributors to McDaniel’s demise, and that the autopsy findings were conveyed.
The officials also noted that the barn gave off the impression of being used as a workshop and that it included a number of vehicles that were being kept inside. There were a total of 20 firefighters sent to the scene, including those from Tigerville, Piedmont Park, and Lake Cunningham. Both the North Greenville Fire Department and the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office are currently looking into what started the blaze as part of their respective investigations.
