Thomas McQuaid Obituary, Thomas McQuaid Has Sadly Passed Away

Thomas McQuaid Death, Obituary – Thomas McQuaid has sadly passed away unexpectedly with loved ones, family and the entire community left heartbroken and in grievance, according to an online publication. McQUAID, THOMAS J., a resident of Norwood, Massachusetts, lost his brief fight with cancer on December 19th and died away. McQuaid is the father of TJ McQuaid and his wife Christine, who live in Mansfield, and Kristen McQuaid, who lives in Norwood. He is the husband of Sue Wilson McQuaid.

Caroline, Dillon, Julia, Jack, and Brooke McQuaid all hail from Mansfield, Ohio, where their grandfather resides. He is the brother of Dan McQuaid and his wife Carol of North Andover, Ed McQuaid and his wife Jane of Norton, John McQuaid and his wife Alicia of Lowell, Patti Owens and her husband Kevin of Mansfield, and Bob McQuaid and his wife Pam of Scituate. In addition, he is the great brother-in-law and uncle to more than two dozen nieces and nephews. Tom obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree from Babson College, his Master of Science in Teaching degree from Bentley College, and he graduated from Norwood High School in 1971.

He worked in finance throughout his whole career, serving most recently as the Chief Financial Officer of the Boston Biomedical Research Institute and the Forsyth Institute before retiring as the CFO of Norwood. Throughout his career, he was an active member of a wide variety of local and national professional organizations. He was also extremely committed to his family and friends, had a passion for traveling, was an enthusiastic fan of the New England Patriots and held season tickets for the team, and was someone who always looked for the best in the people he encountered.

Tom’s dedication to his community in Norwood, Massachusetts, on both the Finance Committee and the Board of Selectmen spanned a number of years. In addition to that, he taught young athletes in basketball and baseball and worked on a number of other community committees. His quick wit, generosity, and kindness impacted the lives of many people, and he will be greatly missed by all of them. As we celebrate his life and resurrection, vibrant colors are encouraged to be worn to any and all of the services.

On Thursday, December 22, 2022, from 4 to 8 o’clock in the evening, there will be a visitation conducted at the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home, which is located at 1248 Washington Street in Norwood. At 10:30 in the morning on Friday, December 23, 2022, there will be a funeral liturgy performed at St. Timothy Parish, which is located at 650 Nichols Street in Norwood, Massachusetts 02062. The interment will take place at the Highland Cemetery in Norwood, Massachusetts.
