Although he spent a lot of time fishing, he found the most fulfillment in serving Jesus Christ.

Edna and Ron were both members of Christ Community Church, which is how Ron got his moniker “Red Box Ron.” Edna was also a member of the church. This was as a result of the fact that he would regularly offer to share Christian movies with anybody he happened to be talking to at the time. Everyone cared deeply about him and will feel a profound void in their lives now that he has passed away.

Ashley Cesar (Nick Placek), who lived in Lockport, Illinois, was Ron’s only child and the daughter he had with his ex-wife. In addition, he had a granddaughter named Destiny Hicks who lived in the city of Chicago in the state of Illinois.
