Eamon Mitchell Death, Obituary – Eamon Mitchell has sadly passed away unexpectedly with loved ones, family and the entire community left heartbroken and in grievance, according to an online publication. Eamon Mitchell, a former member of the Killimordaly Hurling Club who most recently resided in Gurteen and was originally from Knockroe, died away recently. As a result of hearing the news of his demise, the club is in a state of mourning. The town of Knockroe was where Eamon Mitchell grew up.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his sons Eddie and Michael, his daughter Claire, his daughter Martina, and his daughter Marie, as well as their respective wives and his grandkids. All of them have our most heartfelt condolences at this time. In addition, Eamon’s brothers Paddy, Sean, and Gerard, as well as his sisters Mai and Ann, and the rest of Eamon’s family, the Mitchells, are in our thoughts and prayers at this time. The Mitchells are also in our thoughts and prayers.
Even after he had moved to England and played for all grades with the club throughout the late 1950s and early 1960s, Eamon continued to make regular trips back to Ireland to play hurling for Killimordaly. This was the case even after he had played for all grades with the club throughout the late 1950s and early 1960s. Even though he had played for all grades with the club during that time period, he went ahead and accomplished this anyhow.
Eamon’s trips back to his hometown did not go to waste because he was able to win county titles at both the junior and the intermediate levels. Both of these accomplishments came in the same year. In addition to that, he was an integral player of the senior squad that nearly won the senior final in the year 1965. This team came really close to winning the championship.
The fact that he was successful at these levels ensured that the time and effort he put into getting back home was not wasted. After Eamon’s passing, those who were fortunate enough to have known him will experience their loss in a variety of unique ways.
I hope and pray that he is finally able to enjoy rest and relaxation in heaven.
