Gerald Coon Death, Obituary – Camden, New York resident Gerald H. Coon, Sr., 83, died on Sunday, December 18, 2022, at home with his family at his side. On July 18, 1939, he entered the world via the wombs of Gerald G. Coon and Christine Rock in Utica, New York. He finished high school at Utica, New York’s Utica Free Academy in 1958. He tied the knot with Cynthia Klimek on December 30, 1960, in Utica, New York. In February 1958, fresh out of high school, Jerry enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and stayed until August 1962. Thirty-two of his working years were spent at Niagara Mohawk in the role of Line Foreman. He retired and then spent several years working as a school bus driver for the Camden School District. As the former commander of the American Legion’s Arthur S. Moran Post #66 in Camden, New York, Jerry served his country honorably.
Over the course of thirty years, he played softball with the Bombers and coached the legion baseball team. He joined the Marine Corps League and served in the LZ Old Corps. #999. and Helen as well as his in-laws’ sisters Barbara Curtis and Judi Klimek.d nephews all preceded him in death. admirer of the New York Yankees and the great outdoors. On Thursday, December 22, 2022 at 11 a.m., a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John the Evangelist Church in Camden, New York. St. John’s Cemetery in Camden, New York, will be the site of the interment. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the LaRobardiere Funeral Home, 109 Main Street, Camden, NY.
