Paul Hyde Death, Obituary – Paul Hyde has sadly passed away unexpectedly with loved ones, family and the entire community left heartbroken and in grievance, according to an online publication. On Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at the age of 61, Paul John Hyde, Jr. passed away in a calm and serene manner at his home in Morristown. He is now resting in the arms of the Lord. In addition to being a member of the Morningside Baptist Church, he served as the Executive Director of the Hamblen County Substance Abuse Coalition.
He had completed his duty to his nation with distinction while serving in the United States Marine Corps. Paul was a gifted musician who performed songs influenced by the southern gospel tradition. He was a member of the vocal section of a number of different quartets, some of which are the Redemptions Promise, the Florida Boys, and the Blackwoods. He was proficient in a broad number of fields, but his favorite was restoring old vehicles. He had a passion for the work. The time he got to spend with his family, especially his grandkids, was something that he held in the highest regard.
His grandmother, Myrtle Davis Hyde, his father, Paul John Hyde, Sr., his sisters, Lisa Marie Hyde and Ann Elizabeth Hyde, and his grandparents, Myrtle and Hue Davis and Bill and Katherine Hyde, all died before he did. His mother’s name was Myrtle Davis Hyde, and his father’s name was Paul John Hyde, Sr. His wife, Freda Testerman Hyde, his children Leslie (Larry) Scott and Maddy (Taylor) Hyde-Price, his step-daughter Hannah (Nick) Nichols-Evans, his grandchildren Bailey Evans, Kayleigh Evans, Russell Evans, Jacob Scott, and Makayla Scott, his mother, Elizabeth Davis-Hyde, his brother Kenneth Hyde and his sister Theresa “Terri” Hyde are among those who are still with us today (Todd)
On the evening of Thursday, December 15, 2022, from five o’clock in the afternoon until seven o’clock in the evening, the East Chapel of Allen Funeral Home will be available for the family to receive guests.
